What we do
From a single bath to a year-long whole-home, every project is led by an in-house architect and built by our own tradespeople. No subcontracted-out drama.
01
Year-long, top-to-bottom transformations.
02
Cabinetry, layout, light — re-thought.
03
Primary, guest, half — handled.
04
Primary suites, family rooms, sunrooms.
05
Reclaimed square footage, properly done.
06
Decks, screened porches, pergolas.
Our process
Design-build means one accountable team from sketch to keys. Architects, project managers, and tradespeople all under one roof — and one fixed-price contract.
01
A 90-minute conversation in your home. We listen for how you actually live, then sketch the constraints we're working within.
02
Our in-house architects produce three options — feasibility, plans, fixed-price contract. You see numbers before any demolition.
03
Our own tradespeople, our own job-site rules. Weekly walkthroughs, a single point of contact, and a daily-cleaned site.
04
A 30-day post-completion walkthrough, a five-year workmanship warranty, and a phone number that still goes through to a person.
Why Holland
We turn down most projects. The ones we accept get an architect-led team, a fixed price, and our undivided attention until you're holding the keys.
01
Three licensed architects on staff. Drawings happen at our table, not subcontracted out and lost in translation.
02
The number you sign is the number you pay. Change orders only happen if you decide to add scope — never because we underestimated.
03
A single project manager from kickoff to keys. No "let me call the architect" runaround.
04
Carpenters, finish trim, painters — all W-2 employees who've worked together for years. Quality you can audit on a walkthrough.

From our homeowners
"They quoted us in March, started in May, and handed us the keys in October — to the day. The fixed-price contract held. Nothing in this category does that."
Karen P.
Whole-Home · Brookline · 2025
"We interviewed five firms. Holland was the only one who walked our crawlspace before quoting. That told us everything we needed to know."
Marcus L.
Bath + Addition · Newton · 2024
"Three years after the addition, the trim still hasn't separated. The doors still close on the first try. You forget good carpentry until you stop seeing it."

Founder
I started Holland in 1992 with a single carpenter and a borrowed pickup. I'd just finished my architecture degree and watched too many beautiful drawings get butchered in the field by builders who hadn't been part of the conversation.
So I built the firm I would have wanted to work with. Architects who go to the job site. Carpenters who sit in on the design meetings. One contract, one team, one accountable name on the door. Mine.
